A woman who visited a festive Tesco Christmas market left with a huge bag of food – and it was all free.

Cissy Jones, 28, took a trip to her local supermarket after spotting news of the company’s events online, and she couldn’t believe what she got her hands on.

The shopper, from Stockton-on-Tees, shared a video of her trip to a Manchester store, showing off the festive decor and the little-known goodie bags.

Cissy said that while the market is small, it is “worth a look” if you’re making the trip to Tesco.

She added that the samples and goodie bags were a huge bonus.

In the free bag, Cissy got her hands on a selection of items including Lindt chocolate, Bailey’s whipped cream, toilet roll, Chocomel, cider, cat food and more.

“The staff were super helpful and told me about this,” she told What’s The Jam.

“You could get items such as mince pies, Celebrations and Bailey’s whipped cream.

“You do have to buy two things for the goodie bag but I only spent £3.50.

“I bought two stocking fillers which were two packets of Toffifees.”

Altogether, Cissy estimates that the goodie bag would have cost around £15-20 to buy all the different items in store.

She added that the Baileys whipped cream and the Lindt reindeer were her favourite items, and that everything in the bag, except for the cat food which was donated to charity, went to use.

Cissy described the market as “super cute” and added: “I love anything Christmas themed so the fact they have this in their car park and certain stores is nice.

“It’s not a huge market and I believe it can be different at different stores as they tour the UK, so you never know what brands will be there.

“But if you see it whilst pulling up to Tesco, it’s worth a look and you can grab yourself some free samples or even a goodie bag!”

Tesco’s Christmas Market is visiting stores across the country this December, offering free food and drink samples to visitors.

There are a range of brands on offer to try, including Costa Coffee, Chocomel, Three Barrels, Celebrations, Lindt, Doritos and more.

Shoppers can visit the Tesco Christmas website to find the full list of dates and venues.
