A thrifty Brit has shared his hotel money saving hacks and revealed how to take full advantage of freebies.

“The best way to save on hotel is booking a great deal but no matter how much you pay, taking complimentary sugar and tea and a loo roll, which they expect you to use anyway, is harmless,” the 39-year-old content creator told What’s The Jam.

“I just like to get my moneys work whenever I stay somewhere.

“I’ve always done this but it’s probably inspired by Ross from friends when he takes stuff from hotel.

“Like, ‘Salt shaker? No no no. But the salt? Yes yes yes.’”

In the video, Elliot, from Preston, Lancashire, starts by taking an empty water bottle to the and filling them up with the hotel’s shampoo and conditioner.

He then does the same with the soap – and says it is allowed, you just can’t take their bottles.

At breakfast, he takes a paper bag and fills it with mini butters, saying: “They’re not cheap these days.”

He also adds fruit, cereal, oatcakes and teabags.

Elliot then says he helps himself to plenty of free coffee and wraps up croissants and muffins in napkins to take home.

Back in the hotel room, he takes the rest of the toilet roll and all the tissues from the tissue box.

He then puts everything in an un-used bin liner.

Elliot also checks under the bed for anything he or someone else has left.

Elliot captioned the post: “Hotel money saving tips.”

It has since it has gained more than 406,000 views, 2,160 likes and hundreds of comments.

Elliot added: “It’s just a bit of fun really – like when I say check under the bed to see if anyone has left anything.

“Obviously if you find anything you should hand it in – but a lot of people think I’m being serious.

The video attracted a whole host of positive comments online.

Clara said: “Don’t forget pen and paper..batteries from remote.”
