A mum shocked all her wedding guests when they found out her stunning dress cost just £59 – and was from Shein.
Nicole Turnbull, from Newcastle, tied the knot with partner Dylan on June 17 in Cyprus.
With money tight while on maternity leave and a toddler to care for, the 27-year-old couldn’t splash out thousands on a dress she’d wear once.

Instead, she took a chance on a £59 Shein dress – and the results left her guests gobsmacked.
“I buy a lot of day-to-day clothes on Shein, so I thought I might as well have a look at their wedding dresses,” she told What’s The Jam.

“When I first saw it, I thought that’s exactly what I’m looking for, but was sceptical due to the price, and the sizes were only in the US.
“But after reading reviews, I thought it’s worth a try. I can just return if it’s no good.”
The mum-of-one says her package took just two weeks to arrive and she was “amazed” by what she found inside.

She said: “When the package arrived, I opened it and was honestly amazed. It was exactly like the photos and of such good quality.
“I did have it altered as the cups were quite big, but the fit everywhere else was really good. I was absolutely ecstatic with the quality for the price, and couldn’t complain at all.

“I felt amazing on the day with my hair and make-up done and the dress, everything came together really well.”

On the big day, Nicole says she told guests the dress was from Shein and nobody believed her.
She added: “I told all my guests it was from Shein. I couldn’t stop myself with all the compliments. I kept saying, ‘Guess where it’s from!’
“Everyone was amazed they didn’t believe me; I even told the hairdresser.
“I would definitely recommend Shein for wedding dresses 100%. I received so many compliments.
“Guests were saying they know people who spent hundreds if not thousands and looked no better, so why not save yourself a fortune?”

Nicole also advises future brides to check reviews and make sure the retailer has a good returns policy before buying online.
She said: “If people are worried about buying online, I would say always look at the reviews. If people post photos with their review, then even better.
“Check the returns policy for the company you are ordering from because if it’s free returns, then you might as well take advantage and try as many as you want. Also check Trustpilot.

“I think a lot of the Shein wedding dresses are beautiful. Again, just check the reviews, and if you think it’s too good to be true, it’s not!
“It’s also important to keep checking the price. The dress was originally £71 when I bought it, then changed to £68, then went down to £59, so I reordered and returned the more expensive one.
“Honestly, I never expected so many compliments – it just goes to show you don’t need to spend a fortune to look amazing on your wedding day.”
