A travel influencer has caused a stir by slamming a popular city break destination as chaotic, scary and “full of trash”.
Marek Pukas filmed a 13-second clip that showed rubbish strewn across the street and overflowing from planters.
Identifying the city in question as Naples, he asked: “Most disappointing city in Italy?”

Marek, 28, said the country had blown him away “so many times”, with his “beauty, charm and care”.
But Naples took him by surprise – and not in a good way.
“I’ve seen a lot of places across this country, but I’ve never seen streets so full of trash,” he told What’s The Jam.

“It was messy, chaotic, and, honestly, hard to enjoy.”
Marek and three friends travelled to Bari, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Positano, and Sorrento before arriving in Naples on their road trip in June.

Marek said: “I was super excited, because Naples is the capital city of pizza.
“So we got there, and it was quite chaotic.
“Italy is chaotic, but this city was all over the place.

“We were driving around the city for some time to find a parking spot. We finally got one.
“We were already kind of scared, because in that parking spot there were a few cars with broken windshields, so it made us think.
“But we still went to explore a bit. And that’s where all the dirt began.
“I don’t know what part of the city we were in, but it wasn’t like the Italy I knew.
“It was dirty, trash everywhere, people selling pretty much everything at some random markets.”
Marek and his pals called it quits after just two hours and decided to head back to their accommodation in nearby Pompei “because we just didn’t feel safe”.
Marek added: “All of the cities we visited before were stunning, but that one place just wasn’t it.”
But his experience has divided opinion.
Martina commented: “I live in London, and on weekends the trash can be worse than what you showed.

“If you come to Naples just to post its worst sides for likes, maybe it’s not the place for you.
“This city has beauty, culture, and struggles – and deserves respect, not mockery.”
Cata, on the other hand, wrote: “I’m on an Italian trip, and so far I have visited Naples, Rome, Florence, and Verona.

“And Naples was the only city where trash was everywhere, very dirty and smelly.”
Rosanna took the middle ground, saying: “That’s okay, I don’t expect tourists to appreciate the beauty of Napoli.
“Not perfect by any means, but the food is the best. It is the city that invented pizza.”
