Her first tip requires paying attention to travel dates, and Esther recommends opting to depart during the middle of the week.

“Book flights during midweek, as they tend to be cheaper than weekend departures,” the Rotterdam native told What’s The Jam.

“You can also set up fare alerts to catch any price drops quickly.”

She also suggests that those travelling be flexible with their dates, and also be savvy with the way they choose to fly.

She said: “Consider booking connecting flights instead of direct ones for significant savings.

“Be flexible with your dates and destination.

“Sometimes a difference of a day or so can save you a lot.”

The KLM Airlines attendant also revealed that some airlines have hidden discounts.

“Always be sure to compare prices between the website and the app.”

Saving money on flights is one thing, but many people know how busy airports can get around Christmas time.

Esther also shared some tips for reducing stress amongst the craziness.

She said: “If you’re flying with gifts, consider shipping them ahead to avoid bulky luggage or customs issues.

“And when packing for your trip, try to pack smart.

“Keep your essentials in your carry-on luggage, especially for long-haul flights.”

She also noted that arriving early can be useful, and recommended a “game-changing” item to pack in your carry-on.

She said: “I recommend travelling with noise-cancelling headphones.

“They’ve been a game changer for me this year, especially on busy flights.

“Try to arrive at the airport early too to reduce stress and allow time for unexpected delays.

“It’s always useful to use airline apps to stay updated on flight changes and to check in quickly.”

Esther is well equipped with knowledge, having, attended an aviation course at the age of 16, and after three years, she landed a role with TUI.

She then moved on to KLM, where she has worked for almost three years.

She has previously said that many airlines love to embrace the holiday spirit and that some even serve their passengers festive meals.

She feels that it’s important for those boarding a place this Christmas to also embrace the atmosphere.

She added: “Traveling during the holidays can be stressful, but it’s also a time to create memories.”

“Don’t forget to relax, enjoy the journey, and embrace the festive atmosphere, whether you’re in the airport or onboard the plane.”
