A couple have caused chaos after accidentally flooding their hotel.
Graham Bernard was on holiday with his wife Jodie when they booked a room with its own pool.
But the dream trip started to go downhill when they didn’t read the sign to turn the taps off once the pool had been filled – leading to a huge flood.

The couple, who say they stayed in a room “50 floors in the sky”, shared a video of the unfortunate incident on Instagram, where it has gained over 16.5 million views.
“We’d seen the hotel on TikTok and thought it looked incredible, so we made sure to get a room with a pool,” 49-year-old Graham, a gym owner from Sydney, Australia, told What’s The Jam.
“The hotel had filled the pool for us while we were out for the day, knowing that if we weren’t back in time, the water could pool into the overflow drains.
“We came back, got our swimmers on, popped open a bottle of champagne and relaxed.
“Next minute, we were getting texts about water and flooding.
“It had flooded the rooms downstairs and cascaded down the building.
“We didn’t think we’d need to turn the water off in a wet-edge pool – we weren’t doing dive bombs or doing [anything] deliberately.
“Dramatically, the doorbell rang, and all of a sudden it felt like a CSI TV scene.”
Staff pointed out a sign which asked for the taps to be turned off – but, as it was written in a local language, it had been missed by the couple.
A manager and three cleaners arrived to sort out the issue, as well as an ill-timed robot, arriving with ice that the couple had requested prior to the flood.
Graham said: “It was quite funny as we’d ordered ice to the room and he showed up at the same time that there was already too much water!
“The hotel staff were clearly panicked, but stayed very calm in front of us.
“They did not want us to help them clean up, but we helped anyway.”
Staff later realised the overflow drains were blocked, and apologised to the guests.
The couple shared the clip of the incident, which took place last month, on social media.
They can be heard saying “we might have flooded downstairs with our big pool” as well as “we filled it up too much”.
Graham captioned the post: “We have a cleanup crew in our room because we flooded several floors below us.
“It seriously looked like a scene out of CSI with all the ladies running in to clean up.”
One viewer, Danielle, commented: “That seems like a design flaw. There is no way you could have known.”
Another person wrote: “Hmm naughtyyyyy.”
Someone else added: “This hotel room looks incredible! (minus the faulty overflow drain, obviously).’
Anita joked: “Temu civil engineering.”
Jason said, “I need to stay here next time,” followed by a laughing emoji.
Kevin added: “That’s insane omg.”
The incident happened in the Iseya Panoramic Hotel in Chongqing, China.
Graham added: “Once they [staff] realised the overflow drains were blocked, they were great with us and apologised every time we saw them.
“And yes – we did use the bath again!”
