A daredevil collector has set a bizarre world record by opening £7,000 worth of trading card packs while strapped to the wing of a flying plane at speeds of up to 120mph.
Coby Bull managed to rip open seven packs in just 60 seconds as he battled powerful winds on top of a vintage biplane soaring over the English countryside.
The 33-year-old, from London, managed to open seven packs while harnessed to the wing of the aircraft, beating the minimum requirement of six to become the first person to hold the Guinness World Records title for the most trading card packs opened during a wing walk in one minute.

The attempt took place this month at Headcorn Aerodrome, near Ashford in Kent, with Coby strapped to the top wing of a 1940s Boeing Stearman biplane.
The packs used in the challenge were 2025–26 Topps Chrome Update Series Basketball Hobby cards.
“Everyone in this hobby knows the feeling of ripping a pack,” Coby told What’s The Jam – Your daily pulse on what’s trending, creating, and moving the needle.
“I wanted to see what it felt like, full of adrenaline.
“My heart was thumping, and my hands went totally numb – I was trying my hardest to concentrate.
“The wind was pulling at every wrapper, and I only had sixty seconds.
“Seven packs felt like seventy.
“People must think I’m a lunatic for standing strapped to the wing of a moving plane just opening cards for the thrill of it.”
The collector’s Guinness World Records achievement was officially confirmed on 14 October, the day after the attempt.
But opening trading cards thousands of feet in the air is far from the first unusual challenge Coby has taken on.
The thrill-seeker has previously swum from the notorious Alcatraz prison island in San Francisco Bay back to shore and completed a seven-day sleigh challenge crossing Lapland.
Having already tackled water and snow, he decided his next adventure should combine his love of collecting with the challenge of taking to the skies.
And Coby was not finished after setting the record.
He returned for a second flight that same day, this time opening trading cards worth more than $10,000 (£7,000).
Among the valuable cards was a rare Mike Trout baseball card featuring an autograph and a patch, of which only five copies have ever been produced.
But Coby’s taste for the unusual extends well beyond daredevil stunts and sports memorabilia.
The eclectic collector has built up a valuable collection of increasingly rare and unusual items, including a used Viagra pill bottle once owned by Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, which he dispensed from.
Coby began collecting unusual objects because of their historical significance, believing the stranger and rarer an item is, the more interesting it becomes over time.
His collection also includes a first-edition Harry Potter book, while he has paid the highest recorded price for a Spider-Man comic book graded PSA 7.0.
What began as a hobby when he was just 12 years old eventually led him to establish Edition One, a UK collectables business specialising in Pokémon, sports cards and other rare collectables.
He now travels the world trading items and says collectors are among the most dedicated and passionate communities around.
Coby added: “Collecting to me is about getting people talking about something; it’s not just something people buy or a currency; it is ultimately about curiosity and owning a rare piece of history – that is really the thrill or the chase.”
