A man who was whisked away to Venice for a romantic getaway has revealed his destination of choice to return the favour: a Gavin and Stacey tour in Wales.
Ross Whyatt had just spent a relaxing weekend basking in the sunshine, sipping Aperol Spritz and eating delicious pizza.
He had been taken to the Italian city as a treat by his boyfriend, Riccardo Gugliermini, 25.

The 28-year-old, however, had another trip up his sleeve to return the loving gesture; a trip to Barry Island in Wales.
And it’s not Venice, Riccardo can’t wait to return to.
In a clip, which has racked up 3.1m views and over 390,000 likes, Ross documents the Welsh tour.
“I’d still probably prefer a week in Venice over a day out in Barry for sure, as it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” the freelance TV producer, from London, told What’s The Jam.
“But Riccardo wants to go back to Barry asap.”

The pair only became big fans of the sitcom after tuning into last year’s Christmas finale episode.
He said, “We binged the whole series from the start, and Riccardo has fallen in love with the show.
“He’s been quoting it all year, so it only felt right to visit Barry.

“In fact, it was he who wanted to go on the tour in the first place.”
In the video, a knock-off version of Nessa welcomes guests on board a coach, as they recite Smithy’s, played by James Corden, Indian takeaway order.
A group sing-along gets spirits high, before Riccardo is shown wearing a Pam Shipman top.
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions.

Ross added: “He came back home with all the merch, including a mug, magnet and t-shirt.
“We had the absolute best time.
“It’s part of the fun of being in a multicultural relationship and teaching each other about the culture.
“I’m slowly learning Italian and enjoying his cooking.
“I’ve introduced him to Greggs, Yorkshire puddings and a chippy tea.
“I’m also getting him into other British comedy classics, like Outnumbered, Peep Show and The Inbetweeners.
“But Gavin and Stacey is his favourite.
“And I think it always will be.”
