A Ricky Martin fan who spent £850,000 to look like his idol says he doesn’t think he achieved his goal.
Fran Mariano has admired the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actor for as long as he can remember.
The 33-year-old first went under the knife age 18 and has since had around 30 surgeries, some of which have left him fighting for life.

“If I’m honest, I still don’t feel like I don’t look like Ricky Martin,” he told What’s The Jam.
“I’ve been through a lot of physical pain and been on the brink of death from surgeries that were unnecessary.
“But I will never let myself grow old.
“Someday I will grow up and everything will fall, but I will never see myself as a grandpa with grey hair.”
Fran, a life and business coach from Buenos Aires, Argentina, first saw Ricky Martin on television.

He said: “I had never felt attractive or had anyone tell me I was pretty.
“When I saw him I remember thinking if only I could look like him, everyone would love me.
“That’s when my obsession with looking like him began.

“Ricky had everything – the beauty, the talent, the love of the people, everything that I had wanted.”
Fran says he started having surgeries when he was just 18.
He said: “I discovered cosmetic surgery age 16 and was sneaking out of school to have appointments with surgeons, planning my surgeries.
“It was when I was 18 that I had my first surgery, which was my nose and some botox applications.”
Fran says he had had over 30 cosmetic surgeries, spending more than £850,000 in total.
These procedures include three on his nose, two on his eyelids, three on his chin, his ears, cheekbones, lips, a face lift, eyebrow lift, botox, two dermolipectomys, three liposuctions, buttocks, teeth, a bichectomy, filler in his eye bags and more.
He said: “I had problems with the dermolipectomy [a form of cosmetic surgery used to make the abdomen tighter]. The stitches opened and I started to lose blood.
“They had to give me three blood transfusions.
“Then the same thing happened with my buttocks. My body rejected them and they had to be removed.
“Also in the liposuction, I became anaemic.”
Because of the complications, Fran wishes he’d done a few things differently.
He said: “The truth is that I have no place to think about regret since it is nothing that I can go back to but yes, I would have decided differently now.
“For example, to settle for my first nose job and not get three.”
But he says he is not done yet.
He said: “Fifteen days ago I had botox and I already spoke with my surgeon about what age I would have my first facelift, probably at 38 or 39.”
He is still yet to meet Ricky in person.
He added: “I have not had the opportunity to meet him yet.
“He is one of the dreams of my life, I believe that the day I meet him.”
