A Vinted seller was left red-faced after discovering she had accidentally sold her car keys online, along with a jacket.
Ellie Cosgrove had listed a checked jacket on the second-hand clothing app, unaware that one of her two car keys had been sitting in the pocket.
The 27-year-old then managed to sell the black and white jacket – for just £3 – and sent it off in the post.

She had been frantically searching for the key – and only learned of its location when the buyer messaged her.
The garment’s new owner wrote: “Thank you for the jacket but did you know your car key is in the pocket?”
“We’d been looking for the car key for ages and I blamed my boyfriend for losing it,” Ellie, from Barnsley, South Yorks, told What’s The Jam.

“I’m very stubborn, so it took everything I had to tell him it was in fact my fault.
“It must’ve been in the pocket a couple of months because I hadn’t worn it for a while.

“When I got the message, I honestly just thought, ‘That’s about right’ because I always do stupid stuff like this.
“It was a ‘This could only happen to me’ moment.”
The travel business owner had been leasing the car and was worried she’d have to pay a hefty fee to replace the key.

But the buyer kindly posted the keys back and even covered the cost.
Ellie said: “I asked her to send it back and said I would pay for postage but she refused to send me her bank details.
“So the £3 she paid for the jacket ended up turning into £6.
“Honestly, everyone just laughed at me because it’s such a typical thing for me to do.”
