Jilted Brits can dedicate a car being crushed to their exes for Valentine’s Day

They can even get their former partner’s name’s spray painted on the side before it is destroyed.

Scrap Car Comparison are working with yards all across the nation, allowing members of the public to apply for this unique way of obtaining closure.

The scheme has been given the title ‘Scrap your ex’ with the idea to put thousands of old vehicles to good use.

Entries to have your former lover’s name destroyed on the side of an old motor will close on 14 February.

A Scrap Car Comparison spokesperson said: “Every year Valentine’s Day marks the season of love and romance.

“But let’s be honest, not all relationships last the distance.

“Meaning that for some, this time of year can be a reminder of those partners you’d rather forget.

“What better way to let go of the past, and indulge in some proper ‘car-tharsis’.

“By naming an old banger about to hit the scrap heap after your ex-partner, and waving their namesake car out of your life for good.’
