Marks and Spencer is slashing the prices of more than 50 products as it steps up its battle with other UK supermarkets.
Shoppers will save as much as £1.60 on individual items following a £4 million investment in the retailer’s organic range.
The biggest cash reduction is on organic balsamic vinegar, which has fallen from £6 to £4.40.

Organic honey granola is £1.20 cheaper at £4, while lamb mince has dropped by £1.10 to £6.40.
One of the largest percentage reductions applies to organic potatoes, which have fallen by almost 36% from £2.65 to £1.70, as reported by What’s The Jam.
M&S Organic Breakfast Tea has been cut from £2.75 to £1.90, with organic garlic now available from 70p and bags of organic carrots from 90p.
The cuts cover a range of fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy products and store-cupboard essentials.
Selected organic carrots, lamb, pasta and potatoes are also joining the M&S Remarksable Value range.

Prices within the range are benchmarked against rival supermarkets, while M&S says its products retain its usual quality and sourcing standards.
The move comes as M&S seeks to double its share of Britain’s growing organic food market.
The market is worth almost £2 billion and grew by 4.4% during the past year, according to Worldpanel figures supplied by the retailer.

More than a third of M&S customers also say they buy more organic food than they did five years ago.

“It’s another important step in making M&S accessible to more customers while supporting our ambition to grow the food business.”
M&S is also introducing dedicated organic sections at larger and newer Foodhalls, bringing frozen, chilled and store-cupboard products together in one place.
