Morrisons is bringing back its fish and meat counters after a backlash from shoppers.
The supermarket giant axed 70 of its traditional Market Street counters last year as part of a cost-cutting drive.
Following widespread backlash from customers, the chain has now reversed the move, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The counters have already reopened at five locations, with eight more stores confirmed to get them back.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: “Our Market Street counters are part of our DNA.
“They are at the heart of our offer and a real differentiator for Morrisons.”
The supermarket said it has learnt from the closures and improved waste yield over the past year, making the counters more efficient to run.
They will continue to be staffed but are being updated with flatbeds and more grab-and-go options.

Other changes to Market Street include digital ordering screens at pizza counters and more prepared food choices.

Last year, the supermarket also announced the closure of 52 cafés, 13 florists, four pharmacies and all 18 branches of its Market Kitchen format.
Morrisons has not said how many of the 70 axed meat and fish counters will ultimately return.
