An immaculate pre-war Jaguar from an iconic British car firm is on sale for £25,000.
The 1937 SS Jaguar 2.5 litre Sports Saloon was built just two years after the company’s creation.
It was kept for 48 years by its first owner and has done just 15,237 miles.

That equates to only 171 miles a year.
It has been lovingly maintained and is described as representing a sought after piece of the company’s history.
It would have cost £395 in 1937.
With inflation, that is equivalent to £23,000 now, as reported by Whats The Jam.

Its listing says: “Finished in black with its original navy-blue leather interior, this steel-bodied saloon is powered by the 2½-litre overhead-valve six-cylinder engine developed with input from Harry Weslake, producing around 102bhp.

“Supplied new by Henlys of Piccadilly in June 1937 and retained by its first owner for 48 years, it benefits from known ownership from new and an extensive history file that includes a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and previous Jaguar Drivers Club valuation.

“Gently restored from 1990 onwards and maintained in largely standard specification, it represents an increasingly sought-after chapter in the story that would become Jaguar Cars.”
It is being sold by Iconic Auctioneers on 21 March at the NEC, Birmingham.
