Some thought the tall, dark figure with a white, illuminated head resembled the Slenderman fictional supernatural character.
It seemed to be on the inside lane of the three-lane road.
Lauren, who is from Newcastle, was forced to move into the middle lane when she saw the figure.

It then appeared to move further into the road towards her car as she approached.
But as she drew level with it, the spooky being seemed to have turned away from her – with its arms at a strange angle.

It happened in the early hours of Saturday on the A69 while Lauren was driving from Barnard Castle, County Durham to Newcastle upon Tyne, as reported by What’s The Jam.
She said: “I was driving home at 2am when I saw something on the road.
“I was so scared.

“I have absolutely never seen anything like that before.
“I can’t explain it.
“It’s not what I expected to see.
“If I didn’t know it was genuine dashcam footage I would look at it and think it was fake.”
Viewers were scared by the figure too.
One said: “As someone that drives often in the dark, late night and early mornings, there are a lot of things I’ve seen ‘walking’ in the road and can’t be explained over the years.”

Another said: “It looks like it came up out of nowhere and the head is back to front.”
While someone else remarked: “This can’t just simply be brushed off by saying it’s someone walking in the road.
“So much doesn’t add up.
“At the very start it’s bent over and then straightens up.
“The height is really odd, the glowing head is odd and so are the legs.”
Another added: “Omg was that Slenderman.”

While someone else said: “That’s Slenderman 100% – how frickin’ weird.”
The Slenderman or Slender Man originated in a copypasta horror tale online in 2009. It has since featured in video games and movies as well as being the focus of a documentary.
