Telly star Alice Roberts was left in tears of joy after being reunited with a precious ring she lost on a train.
The Digging for Britain and Coast presenter had been heartbroken after the ornate heirloom – a gift from her husband David Stevens – slipped off her little finger.
But the ring was later found by a guard on an Avanti train the 52-year-old had travelled on,.

Alice picked it up from lost property at London Euston, central London while on her way to Eastbourne, East Sussex, as reported by What’s The Jam.
She said: “It gave me the opportunity to pop to lost property to pick up a very precious ring my husband gave to me many years ago.
“The whole experience has been amazing – totally seamless.
“The guard had found my ring on an Avanti train.
“And they sent me emails after I sent photographs of it.

“They told me they had the ring and I just went in and picked it up. I’m just so, so grateful.
“So thanks very much to the guard who found my ring and handed it in.
“I don’t know his name. But it means a lot to me.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have it back. The little ring on my little finger.
“So thank you Avanti, Euston station and the Excess Baggage Company who run lost property.”
Alice, who married archaeologist David in 2009, added: “It means a lot to me.”
The couple share two children together.
