James May has branded Tom Holland’s new non-alcoholic beer “pointless” after trying the 0% tipple.
The former Top Gear host wasn’t too impressed with the Spiderman actor’s new product.
The 62-year-old was reviewing the Hollywood star’s new Bero alcohol-free line.

The product was inspired by Holland’s own journey with alcohol, which led him to give up drinking.

But the sober actor may not be happy to hear that James May thinks non-alcoholic beers are “pointless”.
The TV host didn’t appear to know the beer was owned by the 29-year-old actor before he read a ‘postcard’ which came with the product.
It costs £14 for six 355ml cans on the Bero website, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The drink is described as “a crisp body with a touch of sweetness, finishing with a snappy, orange-lime twist”.

James May said: “Bero, which comes with a postcard, oh it’s by Tom Holland.
“‘We are not just another non…’ non-alcoholic beer?
“But let’s see what, frankly, pointless, alcohol free, apparently cloudy beer, tastes like because that’s all that matters.

“It smells sort of hoppy and, yeah, it smells hoppy and werty and even slightly sweet.”
Eventually, May seemed to come around to the idea.
After pouring himself a glass of the Noon Wheat version, May said: “Well, it’s very, very light, it tastes ok, I suppose, actually Tom.”
He then chucked the rest of the drink away.
May was slammed by some fans.
One fumed: “That non-alcoholic statement felt personal.”
A second added: “Does he know who Tom is?”

Some fans agreed with him though.
One said, “I don’t understand non-alcoholic booze.
“If you don’t want alcohol, drink water.”
Dave joked: “Like going to a brother for a hug.”
