A woman who stayed at a cabin in the woods alone has revealed her shock after spotting what appeared to be a man with two arms reaching out in a photo she took of the fireplace.
When Kathryn Anderson was asked to review a cosy cabin in the woods, she was all ears.
It seemed like the perfect place to unwind and relax – and take in all nature has to offer.

That was until she snapped a photo of the fireplace.
And a man’s face, with two arms reaching out, appeared clear as day.

“I’d encountered ghosts of all shapes and sizes before, but this one was different,” the travel writer told What’s The Jam.
“They don’t usually freak me out, but this one looked creepy.
“That said, I have a good sixth sense about whether a ghost’s intentions are sinister – and I felt this one meant no harm.”

Kathryn, from Vancouver, Canada, travelled to the lodge in November 2023.

The picture in question raised eyebrows as it initially showed a figure surrounded by a green glow.
It wasn’t until zooming in that his features became clear.

And, when trying to ensure her eyes weren’t playing tricks, Kathryn switched her phone to video mode – where the glow began zipping up and down, before landing on her coat.
She said: “I told him that as long as we stayed on our own sides of the cabin, we would be fine.

“When it made no attempts to come near me, it confirmed that the spirit wasn’t there to hurt me.
“I believe it had come from the fireplace, as they’re known to be doorways to the spirit world.
“I noticed that when I put my phone down, it would disappear and then come back when I picked it up again.”
While her night’s sleep wasn’t as peaceful as she had hoped, Kathryn was eager to share her experience with staff at the lodge.
Although they hadn’t seen the ghost before, they were intrigued to hear more about the encounter.
After arriving home, Kathryn saged her coat to ensure the ghost hadn’t travelled with her.
She added: “I wonder if he’s popped out to say hello to other guests since.
“I forgot all about my room with a view – as mine was a room with a boo.”
