A stunned fisherman has caught the same, rare, blue lobster for the third time in just three weeks.
Marc Newton landed the strikingly coloured crustacean yesterday (19 Jun).
The 35-year-old had previously caught it on 9 June and 28 May.

The three were just three weeks and one day apart.
Marc runs fishmongers Beer Fisheries Ltd with partner Leanne landed it off Beer, near Seaton, Devon.

The lobsters are electric blue due to a genetic abnormality that causes them to overproduce a certain protein.
An expert from Oxford University’s zoology department said the chance of catching a blue lobster was estimated at about one-in-two-million, as reported by What’s The Jam.

“Well here he is again,” Marc said.

“Not sure if he is a wants to be eaten, or really just enjoys the ride.
“Third time now.”

“On the left we caught what looks like the same rare blue lobster as the other day.
“What do you think?
“Same or a different one?”
And on 28 May, he shared a photo of a blue lobster and said: “The odds of catching a blue lobster are about one in two million.”
Marc has deep roots in the local fishing community.
The family fishing boat, Bess, is skippered by his father Jim, who has been fishing since he could walk.

Marc said: “Our family has been supplying fresh local fish from our shop on Beer beach for the last 45 years.
“We’re now the fourth generation carrying on this tradition.”
Marc safely returned both lobsters to the sea.
Blue lobsters are famous for their striking cobalt colour, caused by a rare genetic mutation affecting their shell pigment.
Amused locals saw the funny side.
Kevin Hale said: “He’ll be on the payroll soon.”

John Adkin added: “Stop feeding him then.”
Judith Cullip said: “You must be on first name terms now.”
And Sally Westney said: “Love it.

“Perhaps he’s lonely.”
