A ‘cosy’ bedroom has hit the rental market in the capital – but people are hoping it’s a joke.
It’s no secret that living in London has become a luxury.
Earlier this year, financial website Invezz.com found that the average cost of renting in the city per month was £1,873 – over £600 more expensive than the South East at £1,148.

Now, though, a bargain offer has hit the market; well, if you’re looking for a space fit for Harry Potter, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The rental, priced at £1,060, offers a ‘cosy’ fit bedroom with enough space for a double bed, a few shelves and a dressing table.
But that’s it.
Potential renters have flocked to social media to share their shock, with many people saying that “London is finished”.
User @HarleyShah posted a photo of the room on X, racking up over 19,000 likes, saying: “£1060 in Clapham. I spat out my drink.”

They followed up with: “When I see a room in London advertised as ‘cosy’ I just know you cannot exit the bed on either side.
“Over a grand pcm to have to roly poly out of bed. London is finished.”
“Every morning you’ll be praying Hagrid comes to take you to Hogwarts,” David added.

Billie said: “Positives include it being physically impossible to fall out of bed.”
“Mistiming the jump into bed and going straight out of the window would be a great laugh,” another user commented.
Abigail added: “I’m exhausted just thinking about changing the bed sheets.”
Located in Clapham Common, those already in the area also shared their thoughts on Instagram.
“The most expensive cupboard I’ve ever seen,” one person said.
Mohamed added: “What a bargain!”
“Joke I hope,” commented another user.
Jam Press attempted to find the property listing but to no avail.
It is possible that it is just an elaborate prank to showcase the capital’s ludicrous property market.
