The world’s first ever self charging solar powered motorcycle has been announced.
The brand new Solaris eliminates the need for charging stations – making it completely energy independent.
The bike will be powered by an integrated solar system that will work – as long as the sun is up.

Bikers of the future will make use of the retractable photovoltaic wings that fold out when parked up.

The sunlight is soaked up and converted to feed a high-capacity lithium storage system – becoming its own charging station.
The silent, emissions-free motorbike was built by MASK Architects, founded in Sardinia, Italy, as reported by Whats the Jam.
Öznur Pınar Cer and Danilo Petta are the brains behind the design studio.

Bikers will also be saving money due to fuel and charging costs ‘drop to zero’.

The build of the bike was inspired by the anatomy of a leopard.
It is kitted out with a high-torque electric motor, regenerative braking and a lightweight aluminum–carbon chassis.
The Solaris also features a digital cockpit with optional app connectivity.

As the bike relies solely on solar power it is perfect for off grid travel with no need to locate charging or petrol stations.
A spokesperson for Mask Architects said: “With Solaris, Mask Architects and its founders, Öznur Pınar Cer and Danilo Petta, once again demonstrate their ability to merge visionary creativity with radical technological innovation.
“Solaris stands not just as an object of design but as a statement – a declaration of freedom, autonomy and human ingenuity.
“A solar motorcycle that creates its own power, rewrites the economics of mobility, and offers a new path toward a world where energy belongs to everyone.”
