He entered the firm as a trainee and was promoted eight times for his unwavering commitment over the years.
Dwarikesh Sugar Industries allows employees to take 45 days of annual leave, but in nearly 26 years, Singh only took a single day off.
He even worked Sundays, always arrived on time, and never clocked out early.

He took his lone day of leave on 18 June 2003 so he could show up to his younger brother’s wedding.
Singh told local media: “Whether it is a Sunday or holiday, I do attend my office.
“My father had suggested that I not take any leave, and it was then that I understood he was always right.
“My father has always been a man of principles and I had worked on Sundays and holidays for a couple of hours.”
Singh says his achievement wouldn’t have been possible without his family’s help.
Not least that of his brother Manoj Kumar, who drops him off on the main bus route every day.
Singh now works in a managerial role and remains as dedicated as ever to his job.
