A tech company has launched a ‘robot butler’ to serve up breakfast for its owner.

The Genie Operator-1 (GO-1) can butter your morning toast and even make coffee, having learned these actions from watching videos of humans doing similar day-to-day activities.

In a video shared by its creators, the bot can be spotted pouring water into a glass from a jug.

A woman is sitting at a table in the clip, which allows the droid to demonstrate its ability to be attentive.

It extends out its metal arm and hands the woman a glass of water while she is busy on her phone.

The GO-1 also placed two slices of bread in the toaster and got them out once they had been toasted.

It then carefully spread some jam onto one of the slices and created a sandwich which was passed to the woman to enjoy.

The robot has been designed by AgiBot, a robotics company who are based in Shanghai, China.

Their video, shared this month (10 March), has been released to celebrate the launch of their new AI model, as reported by What’s The Jam.

It is intended that the GO-1 will enhance humanoid robots’ ability to perform real-world tasks.

The system used by the robot is able to process vast image and video data to help robots better interpret human actions.

AgiBot says that by transferring knowledge from many data sources, the robot’s adaptability will be increased.

The company claims that the GO-1’s capacity to learn from both human and robot data enables it to adjust to novel tasks, function with various robots, and constantly advance in real-world scenarios.
