A romantic hubby made his wife take the bus home so he could proclaim his love for her at the busy station on their anniversary.

Anderson Figueiredo Alberto, 44, and Vivian Santana Figueiredo, 43, have been together since they were teenagers in high school.

The couple, who have two daughters together, recently celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.

To mark the occasion, Anderson decided he wanted to “surprise her with something new”.

He explained: “I first thought about bringing a bouquet of flowers to her work, but I’ve done that before.

“So I decided to be innovative and told her I couldn’t pick her up from the station that day like I normally do.”

Believing she had to take the bus home, Vivian had no idea what was about to happen.

The video shows Anderson standing on a bench with flowers and a box of chocolates in his hand.

At the top of his lungs, he proclaims his love for Vivian as she stands a few feet away, hiding her face out of embarrassment.

Anderson receives a hearty cheer from the onlooking commuters as he hops down from the bench to embrace his stunned wife.

The couple then shares a hug and passionate kiss.

Anderson carried out the romantic gesture at the Pampulha Bus Station in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on 17 February.

He said he received help from his sister and two daughters, Gabi, 23, and Alice, 11.

Anderson explained: “I arrived at the station early, anxious, and hid behind a pillar, waiting for her to arrive.

“Then when I saw her, that’s when everything happened.

“It was symbolic of the feelings we have for each other, our history, the affection we share, and everything we mean to each other.

“That is our marriage in a nutshell.”

The couple met when Anderson was 16 years old and Vivian was 15, as reported by What’s The Jam.

She was and still is best friends with Anderson’s sister, who filmed the clip.

Anderson said: “When I met Vivian, I asked my sister who she was.

“My sister told me to keep my eyes off her!”

After so many years together, he said the secret to their relationship is “complicity, communication and knowing how to respect each other”.
