A raccoon has been captured falling into a swimming pool and struggling to get out.
A video of the ordeal shows the animal scampering across a homeowner’s decking while being pursued by a gaze of raccoons.
The lone raccoon reaches the side of the pool before turning to face its two rivals.

It falls into the water as the two raccoons, who are quickly joined by a third, look on.
They run away when the homeowner shows up with a net in his hand to rescue the struggling raccoon.
But it paddles to the far end of the pool to get away from the approaching human and is able to pull itself onto the decking.
The raccoon then quickly scarpers off the man’s property to safety.
The lucky escape was filmed in Houston in Texas, US, on 7 January.
