Nintendo has released a unique alarm clock that only works for single people.

The £89.99 time keeper wakes fans to the sounds of their favourite games from the iconic Japanese game company.

From Mario to Zelda, game-loving sleepers can choose from a range of sounds.

The aptly named Alarmo has a motion sensor that detects movement in the bed.

If the person doesn’t get up the sounds will get more intense turning off only once they have got out of bed.

However, Alarmo is only suitable for people who sleep alone.

Nintendo states on their website that the sensor will not be able to tell the difference for multiple bodies in the bed, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Meaning couples who want to use Alarmo would need to be willing to wake up on each other’s terms.

Nintendo said: “Alarmo can’t detect a specific person, so if multiple people are sleeping in the same bed within range of the sensor, the alarm may stop when one person gets out of bed, but restart once it detects there is still someone in bed.

“The alarm will stop completely once everyone is out of bed.”

The clock was released on 9 October.

Jessie added: “It’s a Nintendo clock, I doubt that’ll be a problem for the target audience.”

Someone else stated: “I’m literally so crushed. I wanted it so bad. Should I consider a divorce so I can wake up to peaceful Zelda music?”

Another commented: “That’s just brilliant market research.”

Another follower posted: “Anybody who’s buying a Nintendo alarm clock is definitely single.”
