A five-year-old boy has received a hero’s welcome from his classmates after bravely beating cancer.

Little Miguel was nervous about returning to school after nearly a year of treatment.

But his face lit up when he saw his best pal Theo among the crowd of cheering teachers and classmates.

He courageously battled against Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system.

Miguel was diagnosed with the condition in December 2023 after his parents noticed swelling in certain parts of his body such as his neck and armpits.

His treatment involved months of chemotherapy and constant visits to the Hospital de Amor in Barretos.

Miguel’s mother Brenda documented her son’s battle on Instagram.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, she always maintained a positive attitude to help her son overcome his life-threatening condition.

Brenda said in one post: “We knew we would win, we knew this day would come.”

The video of Miguel’s return to school has gone viral with 4.4m views and thousands of comments, as reported by What’s The Jam.
