According to reports, the unnamed woman, said to be in her 40s, was taken to hospital and diagnosed with concussion.
However, the gym’s management claimed that the accident was “the member’s fault” for not applying the safety bar correctly.
They also refused to give her a refund for her membership fee when she asked for it, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The victim said: “The gym is maintaining their position that they are not at fault.
“When I asked for a refund, they said I signed a contract at a special rate and that I would have to pay a penalty.”
Local attorney Park Ji-hoon said the “gym should take responsibility” because they didn’t display a warning sign that “the support bar could fall so take care”.
He added: “Responsibility lies with the facility’s manager, it is unfair to hold the user responsible.”
It is unclear if the woman plans to take legal action against the gym.
