Three foolish tourists were spotted paddleboarding in a crocodile-infested lagoon
An onlooker – called Pame – couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw them.
A woman in a bikini was seen on one board next to mangroves in the company of two fellas.

They were seen on Nichupté Lagoon, near Cancun, Mexico – which is known to inhabit crocs.
She joked: “It’s all fun and games until you see some foreigners paddleboarding in the lagoon.
“Would you dare do it?”
After witnessing the scary scene, she said she approached the tourists to warn them about the presence of man-eating reptiles.
She explained: “I told them that they could encounter a crocodile and that it was better to stay out of the water.”

She added: “In the 1990s, families used to swim there. There were crocodiles, but you didn’t hear about them as much.”
Pame stressed that it is more common to see crocs in the lagoon today, even in areas close to the sea.
The area is full of mangroves that are home to a wide range of different animals.

Signs are erected around the lagoon to warn visitors about the presence of crocodiles, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local said: “There have always been crocodiles there, it is a mangrove lagoon, it’s their habitat.”
Another added: “Honestly, foreigners always apply the rule of ‘You only live once’.”
“Even if they didn’t know there are crocodiles there, I still think it’s their responsibility to find out if the water’s safe, it’s their fault if they know and decide to do it anyway,” said someone else.
Evelyn remarked: “I get the impression they didn’t even realise.”
Hugo said: “I fell into that lagoon once while racing on a jet ski, which ended up quite far away. It was the longest minute and a half of my life, thank god nothing happened to me.”
Gustavo added: “The entire Nichupté Lagoon is full of crocodiles and even more so around the mangroves, obviously tourists do not know this, only those who live in Cancun, every week there are incidents.”
