Former F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin is set to sell for £2.4m.

The 36-year-old Aussie – who had eight race wins during 14 seasons – had the 220mph Valkyrie model personally commissioned for him.

He bought it in 2018 for a reported £2.5m, and was delivered to him in 2023.

It means it is likely he will make a loss on the car – which can go from 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds.

Ricciardo purchased the motor whilst he was still working under Red Bull Racing, who at the time were sponsored by Aston Martin,

The hypercar itself is equipped with all the fixings and trimmings, with over £141,000 spent on optional features for the car, as reported on Whats The Jam.

Ricciardo described the Aston by saying: “It feels like a race car and it looks like a race car.”

“I’m not used to having a roof over my head, but that’s the only thing that really feels different; otherwise, it’s a pretty straight-up race car.”

The vehicle itself boasts incredible performance, with a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine capable of delivering a beefy 1,000bhp and a heady redline of 11,100rpm, perfect for a circuit day.

Developed jointly by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing, the Valkyrie is as close as you can get to a Formula One car for the road.

It has an impressive aerodynamic design that showcases the involvement of the former design boss of Red Bull Racing, Adrian Newey.

The hypercar has now finished its stint on the production line, meaning there’s a limited number of just 275 of the motors in existence between the several variants.

Because of that, each Valkyrie is now classed as a highly collectable motor, rarely put on public sale.

The auction for Ricciardo’s Valkyrie will be run by Broad Arrow Auctions in collaboration with Zoute Concours at Zoute Grand Prix Car Week, Knokke-Heist, Belgium, on 10 October.
