Online sellers are taking advantage of Donald Trump’s return to office later this month.
One person is flogging a pair of ‘Never Surrender’ Trump sneakers for a staggering $450,017 (£359,438) on eBay.
The limited-edition shoes – shiny, gold high tops with an American flag detail on the back – were originally sold for $399 (£319.31) a pair.

They are one of 1,000 ever made, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The high tops, which are being sold at a ‘buy it now’ price, are already in four baskets and have been favourited by 78 eBay users.
The sneaker’s description reads: “Donald J Trump Sneakers. Never Surrender. GOLD
“Limited Edition of 1000. #825/1000. Mens’ US size 9. W 10.5
“Brand new. Never tried on or taken out of box.”

The ‘Never Surrender’ shoes were announced by Trump in February 2024, a day after a New York judge ordered him to pay $354.9m (£283.92m) in penalties for fraudulently overstating his net worth to dupe lenders.
“I’ve wanted to do this a long time,” the businessman-turned-politician, who would go on to win the November US presidential election, told attendees at Sneaker Con, a gathering in Philadelphia that bills itself as the “The Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth”.
At the time, Trump campaign officials promoted the shoes in online posts.

The shoes sold out within hours of being launched.
Of the original 1,000 pairs sold, “at least 10” were personally autographed by Trump, according to the website.
The sneakers being sold on eBay do not come with a signature.
Several other pairs are also being sold by Trump to celebrate his victory in the November 2024 election, including a pair of gold ‘Trump Won’ sneakers that are limited to 1,000 pairs.
Perhaps they are an investment worth making, even if you voted for Kamala Harris.
