The OAP, who turns 101 years old next Friday (25 Jul), was surprised by her AI-savvy grandson.
Marto, 33, told What’s The Jam: “At work, I keep up-to-date with the latest AI developments because it’s an area I’m very interested in.

“I always like talking to my grandmother because she’s 100 years old, and one thing I like showing her is new technology.
“My grandmother always talks about my grandfather José, she’s smitten like the first day.
“She has a photo of him on a small table in her living room so I told her that we could create a video from that photo.

“I said ‘I’m first going to take a photo of it with my mobile phone and then I’ll transfer the image to my computer and we’re going to bring it to life’.”
Marto, who lives in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, added: “I then filmed her reaction, and mine, because the video shows the moment when we both saw it for the first time.”

The video showed him sitting with Sati at a table while looking at his laptop screen.

He played the AI video and Sati’s eyes lit up.
As the AI-generated image of Jose smiled and moved, she said to the screen: “I love you, Jose.
“We loved each other… Oh, I can’t believe it!”
He asked Sati when she last saw him like this and his gran said “1994” with tearful eyes.
The clip went viral on TikTok with 1.8m views and thousands of comments.
Marto, who performs in the electro-pop band ‘Efectos Especiales’, said: “I thought the video might go viral on TikTok, but I never imagined it would become so popular.
“But it has all the right ingredients to go viral: my gran’s age, AI (which is very trendy), her authentic reaction, ‘reviving a dead person’, and the notion of ‘forever love’.
“Some people even claimed that my grandfather responded with psychophony in the video!
“I wasn’t surprised by my grandmother’s reaction, it was genuine, as it always is when it comes to my grandfather.
One local said: “After she said ‘I love you Jose’, I heard a very soft ‘I love you’ back.”
Paloma added: “I heard the psychophony, he answered ‘I love you’.”
Luciano remarked: “Stop saying this was bad for her, she never forgot about her husband. Seeing him ‘alive’ filled her face with love, she looked so happy.”
