A chuffed woman’s cat was found living with strays a mile from her home seven years after vanishing.
Liz Gillespie’s five-year-old pet puss Kevin Durant – named after the NBA player – went missing without a trace.
She gave up hope of ever seeing him again.
Liz told local media: “I live next door to 30 acres and woods.
“And so I just kind of assumed that maybe a coyote had gotten him, and I really didn’t think he was out there after so long.

“I kind of didn’t have any hope left.”
But she got the shock of her life when a local animal shelter called her to tell her Kevin had been found.
She was told the Lynx Point Siamese had been taken in for testing after a scuffle with a local child.
Vets had then realised he was neutered and microchipped.
The microchip company identified Liz as his owner.
It turned out the feline had been living in a cat colony about a mile from her home in Rock Spring, Georgia, US.
Liz collected Kevin, now aged 12, and took him back home.
He’s receiving treatment for a minor upper respiratory infection but is otherwise doing well.
The North Georgia Animal Alliance, where Liz volunteers, said: “He is currently resting and getting to know his way around the house again.
“It will be a slow adjustment but he can relax and retire properly now that he is a senior fellow.”
