An influencer has sparked outrage after revealing his £120 “emergency” food shop at his “local supermarket” – luxury department store Harrods.
Carmie Sellitto filmed himself stocking up on three days’ worth of supplies, but his choice of groceries has left viewers questioning just how seriously he was taking the supposed emergency.
Rather than heading to a budget supermarket to pick up essentials, the 27-year-old headed to the famous Knightsbridge store, where he filled a gold Harrods basket with an assortment of luxury treats.

His haul included honey cake, hazelnut cake, a Korean fried chicken wrap, smoked salmon bagel, cheddar bites and £9.92 worth of chocolate-covered strawberries.
The content creator, from London, also picked up three bottles of Fiji water, popcorn, salami and truffle honey ham, before revealing that his shopping bill had come to more than £120.
The government have just announced that anyone in the UK has to stock up on three days’ worth of food because we have a thunderstorm coming, cutting all of our electricity out, so come with me to stock up.
In the post, Carmie said: “We’ve arrived at my local supermarket, Harrods.
“Whenever I see stuff like this happening in the UK, I never know when to take it seriously or not.
“Just in case it actually happens, I’m going to take it seriously.
“First things first, I’m going to get a golden Harrods basket; let’s see how much we can fill this up.”
He proceeds to fill the basket with numerous luxury snacks, as well as bottles of prime Fiji water – which alone can cost upwards of £2 each.
Carmie next moves on to sweet treats, saying: “I just noticed they have chocolate-covered strawberries, so I think I’m going to get some flavours of these.
“I’m going to pretend that I didn’t just spend £10 on five strawberries.
“[…]I can’t actually fit anything else in my basket, so I think we can call this a day.
“I spent over £120, so hopefully that lasts me.”
The clip, posted on TikTok, has racked up more than 857,000 views.
However, viewers were less than impressed by his choice of emergency provisions.
One person said: “Harrods are you for real, not everyone is rich.”
Another commenter said: “Is this a joke?”
A third person added: “It’s an emergency, not a party.”
Another person said: “Not everyone can afford Harrods. Some people struggle to get shopping from Aldi.”
A fifth person added: “Did he just call Harrods his local supermarket?”
