A Brit who ditched the UK for a life in sunnier climes to escape the cost of living crisis has revealed diesel is less than half the price.
Laura Anderson recently upped sticks and moved abroad after the constant rise in day to day costs pushed her over the edge.
The 42-year-old has spent her whole life living in Scotland before deciding to make the leap and move to Malta.

Now, just a week into her new life the price of fuel has blown her away – claiming the UK has become a ‘rip off’.
“I was shocked to see the price difference,” Laura, from Fife, Scotland, told What’s The Jam.
“I’ve moved to Malta partly for the weather, and partly because I feel the UK is becoming too expensive.”
Whilst walking her dogs in her new home on 4 Oct, Laura noticed diesel was priced at just £1.03 (€1.21) per litre.
When travelling down to Heathrow Airport to start her new life, the business owner noticed that diesel cost her a whopping £2.22 per litre.
Laura even clocked that unleaded petrol was £1.13 (€1.34) compared to around £1.74 per litre in the UK.
She said: “When we were driving down to Heathrow, diesel was £2.22 compared to €1.21.
“What is going on in the UK, rip off.
“That’s over £1 more expensive per litre.
“I lived on a farm in Scotland and kerosene heating oil is £1.11 per litre.
“That means my house would cost over £500 per month for heating in the winter not including firewood or electricity.”
The clip quickly went viral online with over 180,000 views and plenty of jealous Brits in the comments.
One person wrote: “UK is rip off central.”
Another viewer added: “Soon be worth driving to Malta to fill up.”
One other person said: “Because the British government loves tax.”
Another commented: “Bring me some back.”
One person added: “It’s our greedy government.”
