Footage has captured the bizarre moment thousands of sardines started to jump out of the sea.
The school of fish were surfacing the ocean before they started leaping into the air.
Locals noticed the phenomenon and quickly rushed to catch some of the sardines for dinner.

As the fish continued to jump, people gathered bags and fishing nets.
They then held them above the water, waiting for the sardines to jump in, as reported by What’s The Jam.
It happened in the Philippines last Sunday, (3 November).
The video was also shared online, where it was captioned: “Hundreds of sardines splashed in the shallow waters off the coast of Cebu.
“Residents tried to get the fish out of the water with buckets and nets.

“It is unclear why the fish were stranded at the shore.
“Authorities say recent typhoons may be the cause.”
