A pub is going viral after slashing the price of pints to just £2.50 in a bid to make going to the local affordable again.
At a time when many Brits are paying £5 – or far more – for a pint, The Cornish Arms has launched a “Proper Pub Prices” initiative offering a range of drinks for less than the price of a supermarket meal deal.
The pub says it wants to bring back the feeling of a “true local” rather than becoming another expensive destination venue.

As part of the move, customers can now buy selected draught beers, ciders, wines and spirits for £2.50.
Drinks included in the offer include Carlsberg, Boddingtons, Hidden Brewery Ale and Thatcher’s Gold on draught, as reported by Whats The Jam.

Spirits including vodka, gin, whisky and rum are also part of the initiative, with mixers included.
House red, white and rosé wine are available for £2.50 per 125ml glass.
The pub, located in Constantine, between Falmouth and Helston in Cornwall, has shared posters advertising the move online alongside the slogan “Proper Pub Prices”.

Locals quickly flooded the pub’s Facebook page with praise after the deal was first announced on 25 April.
One person wrote: “Locals supporting a brilliant village local pub. We appreciate you.”

Another person said: “I’m going to come drink five pints an hour.”

Someone else added: “Brilliant.”
The move comes as pub prices across the UK continue rising, with the average cost of a pint now topping £5 in many parts of the country.
In some cities and tourist hotspots, punters are regularly paying £7 or more for premium lagers and craft beers.
