A Brit has exposed the “carnage” on his holiday as “competitive” guests battle at 6am to secure loungers at a hotel he claims “has 170 rooms but only 130 sunbeds”.
Edward Lawton was left horrified after his relaxing trip abroad transcended into chaos.
The 58-year-old from Wesham, Lancashire, has slammed his hotel, Globales Santa Lucia Hotel in Palma Nova, Mallorca, for the “crazy” scenes by the pool.

“There are 170 bedrooms and they’ve got 130 beds,” Edward told What’s The Jam.
“Work that one out.
“It was absolute carnage again this morning.
“There are no beds available at all.”
The businessman, who is CEO and founder of his own company, claimed he did not get involved in the sunbed wars himself.

Instead, this Brit decided to watch on from the sidelines, where he would see people queuing up from the crack of dawn – up to two hours before the pool even opened at 8am.
He said: “It’s absolute mayhem.
“As soon as the doors open at 8.00am, because they’re on a timer, everybody runs.

“It’s like a mad dash to grab the sunbeds.
“They’re throwing their belongings onto them, there’s pushing and shoving, and they’re just grabbing everything.
“It’s very, very competitive.”
The footage was shot on 19 Aug, with every single bed claimed within five minutes according to Edward.
He added: “People walk away with smug looks on their faces because they’ve managed to get one.
“I was an observer from the sidelines because I was just laughing.
“I thought the hotel should have a better policy on this because it’s absolutely crazy.
“I couldn’t believe that people are queuing up on their holidays from 6am in the morning, with their bags.
“They’re standing there with pots of coffee around, as you’ll see in the videos, just to get a sunbed.
“Absolutely horrendous.”
