An unloved John Lewis toy frog has sold out after online shoppers were guilt-tripped into buying it.
The green Soft Toy Frog used to be £16.But it was reduced to £8 – half price – and ten just £6.40.
The lonely toy had only one review and was likely to be taken off the shelves after being added to a clearance sale.
But shopper Mollie Goodfellow, 30, spotted it online and took pity on it.

She said: “Crying in the club, why is he so heavily reduced?
“Why does he only have one review?
“What is his story?”
It soon became the best seller of the day, in just 20 minutes after her tweet was posted, with the frog being bought 22 times.

People who were late to the party missed out on getting their hands on the toy after being notified that it was sold out.
One John Lewis staff member said: “I work for John Lewis and I can’t wait to explain this to the buyers tomorrow.”
Another said: “You should get a commission from John Lewis for guilting people into buying this guy.”

One shopper who missed out on the toy stated: “Just felt the devastation of a Swifty about to click purchase on Eras tour tickets only to be told they’re no longer available.”
Soon after the toy sold out shoppers noticed he was back on the site at full price.
However, the eagle-eyed buyers spotted that this time he was a plush toy, which didn’t sit too well with Mollie.
Mollie stated: “One is soft and one is plush.”
She joked: “The plush one is a Tory I hear.”
Replying to the questions of the £16 plush toy being added, she added: “Are you sure this isn’t the coward plush version?”
John Lewis has been approached for comment.
