A rather unexpected account is making waves on Vinted flogging designer gear at bargain prices: British Vogue.

The luxury fashion magazine isn’t exactly known for being budget-friendly, but its pre-loved items are surprisingly low cost – with shoppers saving thousands of pounds.

One highlight is a brown check dress by designer brad Miu Miu, which retails at £1,790 – but was sold on their Vinted account for just £175 despite being new and still having the tags on.

Similarly, a blue Gucci silk blouse was sold for £65 on the pre-loved site, while a similar shirt is currently available by the brand for almost ten times the price, at £600.

A rugby shirt from fashion powerhouse Yves Saint-Laurent was flogged for just 90, while online a comparable piece costs £540.

Meanwhile a red V-neck knit jumper from Maison Margiela is currently for sale at £200, while lightweight knitwear on the brand’s site currently retails at more than double the price.

Many of the listed items were worn by British Vogue’s commerce editor, Joy Montgomery, according to the item descriptions.

The page was created to celebrate the launch of a new podcast, The Closet Digest’, and is raising money for Oxfam, reports What’s The Jam.

The page reads: “British Vogue invites you to shop like a Vogue editor and explore items from Vogue shoots and donated items from editors, whilst raising money for Oxfam.

“We weren’t expecting such popularity and generosity.

“Please be patient and we will try to come back with a re-stock of new items!”

TikTokkers were thrilled to discover the surprisingly budget-friendly cost of the offerings.

One person commented: “It’s such a good idea, love it. Waiting for Vogue France to do the same.”
