A shocked woman found a tenant of 30 years had used a polystyrene plate as an ornate light-fitting
Morgan Jones went to help her landlady’s mum renovate and decorate after the resident passed away.
The 23-year-old was helping her mother pull down the ceiling before spotting a unique bit of decorative DIY.
Morgan noticed something a tad out of place above the light.

When she began pulling at what she originally thought to be a decorative disk, it suddenly ripped in two.
To Morgan’s shock, it turned out to be a picnic plate that had been bodged to look like a part of the ceiling.
The plate had been used by the tenant to cover the wiring for the light in the centre of the dining room of the house in Wrexham.
Both Morgan and her mother were left in stitches by the unique use of the plate.

Morgan Jones, who lives in the city, told What’s The Jam: “The tenants had passed so we were re-doing the house to re-rent.
“We wanted to change the design on the ceiling so we ripped out the old one.
“I thought the plate was a piece of plaster so when it ripped in my hand, we were shocked.

“We took a moment to laugh and then wondered what we were going to do with the new hole in the ceiling.
“It really wasn’t something we expected so that just made it more hilarious.
“We haven’t noticed anything else yet but we are still working on finishing that room before we move to the next.
“My family have been renting out houses for as long as I know, but this one was the only one with tenants that already lived there.
“My mum does houses up as and when a tenant leaves but this is the first one that has needed a full renovation.”
