A rare copy of the first-ever Hulk comic is set to sell for £8,000.

It is estimated that about 350,000 of them were made in May 1962.

But it is unknown how many of them are still in existence.

It had been damaged with rips and tears, and staples were missing.

But the comic book has now been fully restored and is going under the hammer.

It is being sold by Ewbank’s in Woking, Surrey, on 20 November.

The listing reads: “Iconic first Incredible Hulk issue beautifully graded and presented by CGC.

“Creators – Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby and Paul Reinman art, Jack Kirby and George Roussos cover.

“Graded by CGC and protectively slabbed within CGC’s archival-grade capsule.

It is one of 400 comic lots being sold at the same time, as reported on What’s The Jam.

But it adds: “Restoration includes – colour touch, pieces added, tear seals, spine split sealed, staples replaced.”

It comes after 47 rare Superman comics bought for just £20 at a car boot before being left forgotten in an attic sold for £63,000.

It was almost double the estimated sale price.

They were snapped up at the second-hand sale a decade ago following a house clearance.

They had been missing for 40 years.

They were also sold by Ewbank’s last Tuesday (4 Nov).
