A mum-of-three was stunned to discover a 130-year-old pistol in a river while playing with her son.
Nikki Gough, 43, recently started magnet fishing with her children as a new hobby.
And their first trip to the river turned out to be a rather memorable experience.

“It’s a pin trigger pistol and it’s about 130-years-old,” Nikki Gough, a council payment officer, from Maidstone, Kent, told What’s The Jam.
“You hear about others finding them and watching people grab them on YouTube.
“Never in a million years did we think we would find one, especially so soon into our adventures.”
Nikki was standing on the bank of the River Medway when she dunked the magnet and pulled up an ominous looking block of rust in the shape of a weapon.
Unsure exactly what it was, the 43-year-old was advised by other magnet fishers to soak her find in fizzy pop to remove the rust.

After days of soaking, Nikki discovered that it was in fact a real gun that had been in the river for decades.
The mother-of-three then got in touch with the police to hand over the item.
She added: “It has been taken by the police for further investigations.”
