Brits looking to avoid expensive takeaway bills during this summer’s football tournament could save themselves a fortune with a new supermarket meal deal costing just £2.50 per person.

The £10 Match Day Meal Deal includes two mains, two sides and a four-pack of drinks, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Morrisons said the deal offers savings of up to £14.75 and is aimed at football fans looking for a cheaper alternative to ordering a takeaway.
The retailer is expecting a surge in stay-at-home viewing during the tournament, with research suggesting 64% of Brits plan to watch the competition and more than half will be tuning in from their sofas because of the late kick-offs.
Inspired by American game-day food, the meal deal includes a selection of crowd-pleasing favourites including slow-cooked barbecue ribs, buffalo wings, pulled pork and Southern fried chicken.
Customers can also choose from a range of sides including fries, onion rings and bacon mac and cheese.

According to Morrisons, shoppers can create more than 1,800 different combinations across the range by mixing and matching mains, sides and drinks.
The supermarket said the offer is designed to make hosting friends and family easier during the tournament without stretching household budgets.
For pizza lovers, Morrisons has also launched a Pizza Counter Meal Deal offering two pizzas and a side for £10.

The offer includes savings of up to £5.50 and features new limited-edition products such as an American Hot Dog Stuffed Crust Pizza and Football Brownie Cups.
A new Detroit Pepperoni & Hot Honey Pizza has also joined the range, tapping into the growing popularity of hot honey flavours on social media.
Fans looking for a takeaway-style curry night can also pick up Morrisons’ Curry Takeaway Banquet for Two.
The deal includes Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala curry bags along with two sides for £5.50, working out at £2.75 per person and offering savings of up to £4.50.

“From wings and ribs to loaded nachos and fries, the range is all about making it simple to host a great match night at home without stretching the budget.”
The Match Day Meal Deal will be available in stores and online from 17 June until 28 July.
Morrisons’ Pizza Counter Meal Deal is available now until 19 July, while the Curry Takeaway Banquet for Two will run from 17 June until 7 July.
The launch comes as supermarkets continue to battle for customers during the football tournament season, with retailers rolling out special offers and themed products aimed at fans planning to watch the action from home.
