A young man has shocked the internet after visiting a hotel with over 1,500 bad reviews – and giving it a five-star rating.
George Redfern recently stayed at Sachas Hotel in Manchester for a grand total of just £41.50 for a private room and breakfast.
The 21-year-old from Wirral, Merseyside, documented the stay on TikTok, where it has 475,000 views and 16,000 likes.

Despite the hotel having 1,500 negative reviews and a two-star rating on TripAdvisor, George stunned viewers by complimenting the stay – and even calling it “luxury”.
“As I walked into the hotel I thought I was in the wrong place as the lobby and reception area was spotless and had a rich feeling to it,” George, a production scheduler, told What’s The Jam.
“I was expecting a rough night with how many negative reviews this hotel has received, and for my room to be dated, unclean and have an unpleasant stay.
“They had their own suited bodyguard 24/7 and receptionist who were very professional.
“I cheekily asked for an upgrade as I wasn’t a fan of [having] no window, which was my original room, and with it being a big hotel I didn’t expect them to sell out.

“They happily accepted and gave me a double executive room.
“I was amazed at how big it was, two double beds, a large bathroom, window, TV on the wall – I was very happy.
“The only negatives I got were no ceiling lights, only lamps, and the bathroom smelt of cigarettes.”

George says he was also “disappointed” to find the bar downstairs in the hotel was closed and that the pool appeared to be permanently closed.
In the morning, the traveller headed for his complimentary breakfast.
He said: “I was expecting a bad buffet, but to my surprise it was really nice.
“I even went for seconds!”
Despite having low expectations, George granted the stay a full five stars and noted highlights as it being “luxury”, “great value” and having a great view.
He stayed at the hotel on the evening of 28 March and uploaded a video of his jaunt on TikTok, where it has recently proved popular with his followers.
One said: “That breakfast looked decent ngl.”
JJ agreed: “It’s not that bad tbh, stayed here multiple times and there’s definitely worse places to stay.”
Another wrote: “It doesn’t even look bad.”
Clare added: “I stayed there once. Wasn’t too bad. Stayed in worse.”
Faye noted: “I’ve stayed here a few times it’s not bad to be fair for the price.”
Shirley commented: “Love it been there loads of time nice to stay there.”
Morag added: “I’ve stayed here many times I have never had a problem.”
To which George replied: “Must be Karen’s then!”
The content creator had also previously made headlines sharing his experience at one of the UK’s cheapest hotels – The White Moon Hotel, Blackpool, which has 3.9 stars on Google.
At just £9 a night, George was left feeling “surprisingly pleased”.
He said: “My expectations were very low – I’ve stayed in many cheap or low-rated hotels before [so] I thought nothing different – basic essentials, probably a little dirty, but bearable.
“But for the price, it was actually a good stay.
“The room was big, I had a working TV, the bathroom was clean and the heating was very good and kept me warm.
“I also thought the bed was really comfy.”
