A foot-long snake was captured in a pillowcase after it was discovered in a flat
The king snake managed to sneak its way into the property before greeting the resident with a surprise visit.
The terrified homeowner phoned the RSPCA who advised them to capture the slithering, escaped pet in a bed linen.
The black reptile was then collected by animal rescuers at the home in Leicester.

The animal charity is still searching for the owner of the snake.
If the owner is not found, the non-venomous reptile will be rehomed.
A RSPCA spokesperson said: “Another reason more snakes escape in the summer is that some owners take them outside to take advantage of the natural sunlight.
“While sunlight is good for reptiles, the RSPCA urges owners to ensure that their pet is kept secure when doing so, as they can warm up and move very quickly on a sunny day.”
King snakes are native to the US and Mexico.

They can grow up to 1.52m (60ins) long.
