King Charles’ shop flogging Christmas baubles for £110 EACH

King Charles’s Highgrove shop is flogging Christmas baubles for a staggering £110 each.

Made from hand-blown glass, the pricey decorations were designed by Northern Irish glass artist, Andrea Spencer, and promise to “elevate your festive decor”.

The ornaments are made from clear glass and feature gold trimmings at the top that form a hanging acorn at the bottom.

A gold leafing technique has also been used on the decorations to create “a unique, aged look” and as a result “each piece is intentionally imperfect, resulting in a one-of-a-kind, textured masterpiece”.

According to the listing, the decorations were commissioned by the estate.

Home to King Charles and Queen Camila’s private residence, Highgove was bought by the Duchy of Cornwall in 1980, and has been a money-maker for decades.

As well as producing several products on its nearby farm, the estate is open for garden tours and private events.

According to estimates, a sparsely decorated 6ft Christmas tree will need around 70 baubles, which means that it would cost a whopping £7,700 to adorn yours with these very regal baubles.

They are not the only Christmas decorations for sale at the estate.

Similar baubles in festive red and green colours can be bought for £85 a pop, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The shop’s Christmas collection also caters to those on a more modest budget and features other designs including crowns and corgis, which are priced between £9.95 and £14.95.

However, the corgi decorations are already sold out.

A statement on the Highgrove Gardens website reads: “The sale of Highgrove Products, Garden Tours and Events support and enable the life and work of The King’s Foundation.”

The King’s Foundation is an educational charity that provides young people with opportunities in areas ranging from the arts to horticulture and wellbeing.

Highgrove Gardens has been contacted for comment.
