A walker out for a morning stroll was left stunned after a massive lightning bolt struck just yards away from him.
Tristan Northway captured the dramatic moment on video as a fork of lightning tore through the storm-darkened sky.
The strike appeared to discharge towards a metal mast just metres from where Tristan was standing.

“It was massive,” he told What’s The Jam.
“I must have seen at least six bolts while up there but the biggest was the one I got on video.”
It happened at the beauty spot Berry Head, in Brixham, Devon, on yesterday (7 Sept).
Shocked locals couldn’t believe how close the strike came.
One said: “All I can say is good job you weren’t close to the aerial.”

Another added: “If you want to know what it feels like to be hit come n visit me next time there’s a flash or two.
“It’s like being hit by a baseball bat at full pelt on every muscle in your body for an instant – then a headache that lasts a month.”
While a third simply said: “Oooo amazing.”

Berry Head is a protected nature reserve and the site of an Iron Age hill fort, as well as Napoleonic war fortifications.
It’s also home to Berry Head Lighthouse and a beacon used for air traffic control.
