They are on sale as millions of children across the UK return to school this week after the summer holidays.

The Dior description reads: “The loafer revisits a timeless style, showcasing the house’s shoemaking savoir-faire.

“Crafted in black calfskin, it is elevated by tonal topstitching and gold-tone Dior embroidery on top.

It comes as hard-up mums and dads are spending hundreds of pounds kitting their little ones out ahead of the new term.

Prices have rocketed in the last two years amid the cost-of-living crisis, as reported on What’s The Jam.

Another added: “I sold my liver last week on eBay and managed to buy one jumper.”

One mum Michaela said: “Our school’s blazer is £71.

“PE jumper is £40

“I’m not even going to calculate it as I’ll cry.”

Becky added: “It’s cost me a fortune. We have three children.

“So far I’m on a total of £420ish.

“Still have two more cardies to buy and a P.E fleece.”

Katie said: “I’ve only bought what my boy needs.

“I’ve not bought new just for the sake of it.

“There’s no need to overspend or feel like you have to keep up with people who can afford more, wait and pick up bits in the sale.”
