The shoes, made in Italy, also come with a dust bag.
But they are £445 more expensive than similar-looking ones from Asda, which cost just £15.
They are on sale as millions of children across the UK return to school this week after the summer holidays.
The Dior description reads: “The loafer revisits a timeless style, showcasing the house’s shoemaking savoir-faire.
“Crafted in black calfskin, it is elevated by tonal topstitching and gold-tone Dior embroidery on top.
“The easy-to-match loafer will become a wardrobe essential.”
The Asda George product listing says: “Leather-look upper.
“Heart chain detail, scuff resistant, microfresh lining, loafer style.”
It comes as hard-up mums and dads are spending hundreds of pounds kitting their little ones out ahead of the new term.
Prices have rocketed in the last two years amid the cost-of-living crisis, as reported on What’s The Jam.
Lindsey quipped: “Just debating what organs I can do without.”
Another added: “I sold my liver last week on eBay and managed to buy one jumper.”
One mum Michaela said: “Our school’s blazer is £71.
“PE jumper is £40
“I’m not even going to calculate it as I’ll cry.”
Becky added: “It’s cost me a fortune. We have three children.
“So far I’m on a total of £420ish.
“Still have two more cardies to buy and a P.E fleece.”
Katie said: “I’ve only bought what my boy needs.
“I’ve not bought new just for the sake of it.
“There’s no need to overspend or feel like you have to keep up with people who can afford more, wait and pick up bits in the sale.”
